A grand lunch at restaurant “Ô Petits Bontemps” in Béziers

By August 4, 2017RESTAURANT, TO EAT

Sometimes you find a hidden gem at an unexpected place. I mean, who would think of some fine wining and dining next to Béziers library?! The building itself is quite nice, but the surroundings don’t really appeal to go out and have a delightful dinner. Until now, as chef Olivier Bontemps and his wife Emanuelle started a new adventure by opening brasserie Ô Petits Bontemps.

Many times I have passed the restaurant when going to the Médiateque with our book-loving kids. And every time I thought that I should bring chéri here one day when the children are at school. Just about the last day before the start of the summer holiday, we treated ourselves to a nice lunch. And nice it was!

Feast for taste-buds

The restaurant offers a very decently priced menu; we went for the three-course version. The starter of a tomato soup in gazpacho style, together with mango and ginger, offered good taste in a beautiful composition. As the main course, we both had a piece of cod in a delicious sauce, combined with a sort of ragout of lentils. Hearty mixing with Mediterranean flavours, a feast for the taste-buds!

Holiday mood

No dinner without a dessert for me… As it was lunch, I was very happy with this light “Fraîcheur d’Abricots”, including some hints of rosemary. A great treat to enjoy a lovely lunch in this beautifully designed restaurant. Sitting on the comfortable and airy terrace, we were already getting ourselves in the holiday mood!

Ô Petits Bontemps has the same opening hours as the Médiateque: every day from 10h00 till 18h00 except for Sundays and Mondays. Every Friday evening they also open until midnight, best to make a reservation.
